I'm sure this has been said many times, but I really do miss the original opening theme for Prophecies, and the old loading screen which showed the campfire. I'd love to see them return, or at least just the music, because the Nightfall background/music is grating.

So, who's with me? Sign this petition to bring old memories back to reality! (if you even know what I'm talking about)

If i am correct the login screen cycles through the themes for each chapter. I also love the original opening theme but it is still there

And they already stated somethign about why they cant allow the old login screen (though i may be confusing this with the login screen choice idea)

I think he may be confusing it with the in-game store. When you select a chapter it plays the music for that chapter.

Otherwise I have no idea.

When Factions was near release, they changed the background. When Nightfall was released, they changed it again.

I too would like to see the original backdrop, and it's quite obvious it can't be the original backdrop, meaning only four characters shown at a time. I suppose they could optimize it so you could view your character from all angles as they do now, but I feel as though this feature wouldn't be high on ANet's list. Maybe when all the chapters are released, they'll give the option of what background to choose?

Nope. I have left the login screen running before and have come back to the original theme playing on the Nightfall screen. If you leave it running for awhile it gos through the songs usually from Nightfall Theme - random profession themes -Factions Theme - random profession themes - Prophecies Theme and back again. It was even once noted by Gaile after a poster pointed it out.

You can get the music back yourself. Buy the Prophecies soundtrack from DirectSong, do a small edit to the .ds file included and there you have it.

Oh, so you only mean the music. From your other post I thought you meant the entire package, with the camp fire, character select and all.

It's true! However it only cycles once, and the cycle started with the release of Prophecies and very slowly transitioned to the Factions screen and then to the Nightfall character screen.

So, there ya go.

It would be nice to make it random, depending on the chapter(s) owned.

But, from ANet's perscpective, it's advertising new content.

That first campfire had enough real estate for 4 toons. There just isn't enough room for those of us who have 10+ toons. Or, I suppose you could make it look like a class fieldtrip photo

No, he's reffering to the background music, which does cycle

However the background graphics do NOT cycle, they are specifically changed for each chapter

I got the SE soundtrack when I bought the Prophecies SE game. If anyone can tell me exactly how I can get the opening theme (track 1) to play when I log in, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

guildwars.ds - it's not a game file. All it does is control which music plays where, and is in no way part of the client. (You can even disable directsong ingame, as I have, if you wish.)

Yeah, I think that soundtrack is enough. (It is the one with the DirectSound files right?)
